LECTURE NOTES

24/09/2018 (Week 05)

This week's lecture was conducted by three groups, chosen by our lecturer, from our class. The purpose of it was to practice and hone our presentation skills. The topics that the groups are presenting are the history of Typography. These topics were chosen to recap what we have learnt in the first semester.

INSTRUCTION

24/09/2018 (Week 05)

This week, we were briefed about our first assignment for Advance Typography. We were tasked to design a key artwork using the title 'Typosexual Typographic Exhibition' and combining it with a visual or graphical element. The combination of the title and element will then turn into our key artwork that we'll have to use in further assignments.

So, below here are some of the ideas I have for my key artwork.

08/10/2018 (Week 07)

After I received some feedback from my lecturers, I decided to fix a small part of my design for Idea #3 and Idea #4.

The first tweak I made for my artwork idea #3 is that I added a gloss on the top lip and also I curved the sharpen ends of the mouth.

Next, the only change I made was the color from red to pink.

For idea #4, I just changed the typeface in the iris so that the word 'Typosexual' is readable.

FEEDBACK

Week 06: My group & Ron's group had a presentation today, & Mr Vinod was please with it. Regarding our Project 1, our lecturers state that our key artwork should/can be used anywhere (in many different mediums). For example, badges, posters, T-shirts. We should also, again, try to relate the key artwork to the image & portray a metaphor. Lastly, as designers, we should display our intimacy with typography.

Week 07: I should do a bit of tweaking for my key artworks: Eyes, the words in the iris are a bit hard to read; Lips, I should try to make it a bit realistic, like maybe put some gloss on it; Female Head, the readeability is not legible and there is no hierarchy; Lollipop, should be more graphical. Plus, we should do our works in either Illustrator or InDesign and not Photoshop.

Experience

Week 05: This assignment is so far so good. Haven't really stressed about it out yet.

Week 05: Some of my classmates share the same idea.

Week 05: Apparently the lecturers are okay with my ideas.
