30/03/2018 (Week 01)

We started off with learning how to use Adobe Photoshop for our first day of Digital Photography and Imaging class. Our lecturer, Mr. Hafiz, gave us an exercise. The task was to insert a picture of a person into a picture of a mansion that was given to us. Throughout this exercise, we learnt some of the basic shortcut keys in Photoshop. This exercise was actually pretty simple for me.

For this week, using the knowledge we learned from the week before, we given the task to create a 'haunted house' picture. So, I got a few pictures from the web and started to do my work on it.

Final outcome

After the 'haunted house' exercise, we move on to the next one. Which was recolouring an old picture or a portrait. For this, I chose Albert Einstein to be my subject.

To color in the colours, the blending mode used was 'multiply'.

In Week 04, we were taught how to use/add displacement to an image. After that, we were required to find a cloth-like texture and also the flag of a country/state that we were born in.

After finishing our work, we move on to Photography class with Mr. Vinod as our lecturer. We learned about lightings, and the type of equipment used and how they have their own affects. Then, we took photos of each individuals under a certain lighting.

After getting the hang of it, we were then required to do the same to our self-portraits that we took from Photography class.

04/05/2018 (Week 06)

This week, we just did a recap of what we had learned and done during the previous class. The task was just to add a texture onto an animal. I added a fire texture onto a cat.

After that, Mr. Jeffrey taught us how to create a tiled pattern, and also thought us how to use the content aware tool'. Next, we used blending modes to apply the texture onto the pebbles.

18/05/2018 (Week 08)

On Week 08, we were briefed about our first assignment by both Mr. Hafiz and Mr. Jeffrey. Our first assignment was about surrealism. So, before we get into our first assignment. Mr. Hafiz gave us an exercise on how to recreate a surrealism artwork.

We had to find materials such as the sky, ocean, rock, and etc.
